Infatuation: The new love for lovers

I don’t know if I believe in love,

But I’m certain I believe in infatuation

I think love is too powerful a word,

Used too carelessly in fleeting moments

To be human is to be unapologetically flawed

That means we change our minds

Our moods are erratic

Spontaneity keeps us feeling alive

So a love here today may be a love gone tomorrow

So here lies the beauty in infatuation

It can die at any moment

But there are degrees to its sensation

Some catch if for a moment

Some get lost in it for years

And if you’re lucky it never goes away

And you have it for a lifetime

I don’t think I believe in love

But that’s okay

I’m certain I believe in something.
